Homelessness Strategy 2022-27

"Homelessness" tends to conjure up images of rough sleepers, but in West Devon the problem is far more complex. Many people in our Borough do not have a home, or are at risk of losing the home they have, but aren't sleeping rough.

A recent report to the Executive highlighted that families, people with additional needs, couples and single people across the Borough are all at risk of homelessness.

As a Council, we want to increase the number of properties available at below market rent to ease this issue

The Councils' current Homeless Strategy is now due for review, and we want local people to share their views. Your views will mean that the plans will cover the right priorities and meet the needs of everyone in the Community.

The strategy sets out our priority to prevent and relieve homelessness, while providing a sustainable supply of accommodation and support options for residents' needs.
